Did you know that asteroids are rocky objects that orbit the Sun, but are much smaller than planets? Some are as tiny as a pebble, while the largest, Ceres, is about 590 miles (940 kilometers) across – big enough to be considered a dwarf planet!

Coloring Tips

1. 1🎨 Textured Terrain - Use short, choppy strokes and varying shades of gray, brown, and even hints of purple or red to create a realistic rocky surface for the asteroid.
2. 2🖍️ Metallic Marvel - Give the rover a futuristic look by using metallic silver, deep grays, and even a touch of reflective blue or gold for its instruments and articulated parts.
3. 3✨ Cosmic Glow - Make the distant stars twinkle! Use a fine-tipped pen or white crayon to add tiny dots of light, and perhaps a very light wash of dark blue or purple for the deep space background.
4. 4🌈 Shadow Play - Since it's space, light comes from the sun! Pick a direction for the light source and add shadows under the rover's wheels and behind rocks to give your scene depth and realism.
